May 2016 Airline Pet Travel Report

The May, 2016 Airline Pet Travel Report contains pet incidents for the month of March, 2016.

Delta Airlines

On a flight from Baltimore, MD to Minneapolis, MN a dog injured itself while chewing its crate. The dog was taken to veterinary care and treated. The dog was able to continue to its final destination and was released to the owner.

A 12 year-old Affenpinscher was transported from Orlando, FL to Atlanta, GA. After waiting in the live animal holding area, the dog was transported to the gate for its next flight. During loading the dog was found to be unresponsive. The god wast taken to veterinary services for evaluation where it was found that the dog had died. A necropsy was ordered but the findings report were not included.

Two cats were transported from Seoul, South Korea to Atlanta, GA. Upon arrival, one of the cats was found deceased. The owner declined a request for a necropsy and the cause of death was not identified.
