On Alaska Airlines flight 67 from Philadelphia, PA to Seattle, WA a 3 year-old, male, ferret died. Alaska Airlines reports that the animal was handled correctly, but discovered dead upon arrival in Seattle, WA. The incident occurred on July 1st, 2013.

On Alaska Airlines flight 37 from Philadelphia, PA to Seattle, an 11 year-old, male, labrador died during transit. Alaska Airlines reports that the animal was handled correctly, but discovered dead upon arrival in Seattle, WA. The incident occurred on July 24th, 2013.

On Delta flight 1317 from Denver, CO to Atlanta, GA, an 8 year-old male labrador, named Cupid was injured during boarding in Denver, CO. Delta Airlines reports that Cupid chewed through the base of the kennel, and squeezed out the small opening he created. He was seen escaping and was quickly caught by ramps agents. The incident occurred on July 26, 2013.

On United Airlines flight 200 from Guam, to Los Angles, CA, a nine year old, Male, Dog died. United Airlines reports that mishandling did not cause or contribute to the dogs death in anyway. A necropsy revealed a preexisting lung condition. The incident occurred on July 26th, 2013.

On United Airlines flight 30 from Sao Paulo, MX to Newark, NJ, a twelve year old, female dog named Pibe died. United Airlines reports that the animal was handled correctly, but found deceased upon arrival in Newark, NJ. A necropsy revealed significant mitral valve and cardiac disease with secondary pulmonary thromboembolism. The incident occurred on July 19th, 2013.

On United Airlines flight 840 from Sydney, Australia to Los Angles, CA a 2 year old, female, cat named Minoon died. United Airlines reports that the animal was handled properly, but arrived deceased upon arrival in Los Angles, CA. A Necropsy revealed pre-existing condition of cardiac muscle disease (non-suppurative myocarditis). The incident occurred on July 20th, 2013.
