Description of the Incident:
Birds were flown via Goldstreak (small package express) from San Diego, California to Portland, Oregon on Alaska Airlines flight 569. Birds were then placed on a connecting flight, Horizon Air 2309, to Eureka-Arcata, California. One bird was found deceased inside its kennel upon arrival of the aircraft in Eureka-Arcata. One more bird died within one hour of leaving the airport.

Incident has been reviewed with Eureka-Arcata Station Manager. No corrective action was taken since Horizon Air policy was followed.
