Breeze - Pet Information

Does the airline allow pets: Yes

Cats and dogs are the only types of pets accepted for travel on Breeze Airways.

  • Pets are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Breeze Airways allows five (5) pets per flight.
  • A limit of one (1) pet carrier is allowed per Guest.
  • The maximum weight allowed for a pet is 25 lbs, including the carrier.
  • Only one (1) pet per carrier is allowed, even if the total weight is under 25 lbs.
  • Pets must be at least 8 weeks old at the travel time.

Breeze Airways reserves the right to deny boarding to any pet that engages in disruptive behavior. Examples of such behavior include (but are not limited to):

​- Excessive noise, such as whining or barking. - Aggressive behavior like growling, lunging, or biting. - Urinating or defecating in non-designated areas. - Other behaviors or conditions deemed disruptive by a Breeze Team Member.

Service Animals:

  • Under the Department of Transportation policy that went into effect on January 11, 2021, former emotional support animals must meet the requirements of a service animal, or they will be recognized as a pet.
  • Service animals in training are considered pets and must meet our pet requirements to fly with us. More information can be found at Breeze Airways' Service Animal policy, here.

Information for travel day:

  • Pets must be checked in at the airport ticket counter.
  • You (and anyone else on your reservation) will need to get your boarding pass at the ticket counter.
  • Guests with pets may not be seated in the Bulkhead or in an Exit Row.
  • All pets must be carried in an appropriate carrier and placed under the seat in front of you.
  • For safety reasons, pets must stay in the pet carrier while in the boarding area, during boarding and deplaning, and on board the aircraft.
  • Your pet carrier will be your carry-on item and must fit under the seat directly in front of you. Pet carriers fit under extra legroom and standard seats.
  • In addition to the pet carrier, you can bring one personal item on board the aircraft.
  • Your personal item can be stowed in the overhead bin since the pet carrier will be under the seat in front of you.

Booking your pet:

1. During the booking process:

  • Add a pet during the booking process by following the prompts on the Trip Extras page.
  • If anyone on your reservation has an exit row or first class seat, you won't have the option to add a pet. You can either have everyone sit in extra legroom or standard seats or book the Guest traveling with a pet on their own reservation.

2. After you've booked:

  • Go to the My Trips page in the Guest account used to book the reservation.
  • Select your reservation or flight.
  • Click View Flight Options.
  • Click on Edit Guest Extras under Flight Actions.
  • Add the pet and select the traveler.
  • Continue to Checkout to pay the $75 charge per flight.

3. Fido won't fit under first class seats:

  • Please reserve one of our extra legroom or standard seats when traveling with a pet.
  • If anyone on your reservation has a first class seat, you won't have the option to add a pet. You can either have everyone sit in extra legroom or standard seats or book the Guest traveling with a pet on their own reservation.

Kennel / Pet Carrier Information

Only one (1) pet per carrier is allowed, even if the total weight is under 25 lbs.

  • Carriers must be smaller than 17" x 8" x 13" (length x width x height) to fit under our extra legroom and standard seats.
  • The carrier may be hard- or soft-sided and needs to be well ventilated and leakproof. We recommend a soft-sided carrier.
  • Your pet must fit comfortably with enough room to stand, lie down, and turn around.

Documentation Requirements

Breeze Airways recommends traveling with your pet's vaccination papers, but it's not required.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Breeze Airways does NOT fly internationally.

Airline Fees

Carry-On:

  • $75 each way on domestic flights within the United States.
  • Pets can be removed 24 hours before departure time for BreezePoints. Pet charges will not be issued as BreezePoints after the flight has flown. Pet charges are non-refundable.
