Hawaiian Airlines transports dogs, cats and household birds, but there are conditions and restrictions that apply whether you are traveling with your pet or trained service animal.
We advise you to read and understand the conditions and restrictions thoroughly prior to traveling with an animal.
We accept dogs or cats as pets traveling in the cabin, and are happy to accommodate your pet in our pressurized, temperature-controlled cabin compartment of our aircraft following the policies outlined below.
Household birds will not be accepted for carriage in the cabin, but may be accepted as checked baggage. For information regarding pets traveling as checked baggage please visit our Pets Traveling as Checked Baggage page.
For information on our policies regarding acceptance of live animals, please see our Contract of Carriage Rule 19.
To ensure the health and safety of your pet, web, kiosk and mobile check-in will be restricted to allow for inspection of your animal, its carrier and applicable documents by our Hawaiian Airlines personnel. We ask that you check in one hour prior to general check-in and have all applicable documents on your person to help expedite the check-in process. A pet accommodated in the cabin of the aircraft will not count towards your carry-on baggage allowance.
Due to floor space limitations, pets traveling in cabin will not be accepted in our First Class cabin on all North America flights, and pets will not be accepted for travel in the cabin in any class of service on flights to/from New York, Boston, Orlando or Austin. They will also not be accepted on International routes (including Pago Pago).
