Description of animal (including name): A six-year-old, pug dog, unknown sex.

Narrative description of incident: The passenger traveled from Houston to Anchorage with her pug dog. Anchorage ramp personnel delivered the kennel to the baggage claim area. The passenger noticed there was no movement from her dog and upon opening the kennel; found that her dog had passed away. Anchorage baggage staff guided the passenger and her family members into a private area for a few minutes away from the public.

Narrative description of the cause of the incident: A six-year-old, pug dog passed sometime during the flight from Houston, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska. There is no evidence to suggest that the airline’s handling contributed to the animal’s death.
