Description of Incident: Dog escaped kennel in RDU (Raleigh Durham), ran loose on the ramp and was not recovered.

Cause of Incident: Dog chewed through zip ties reinforcing kennel door and forced the kennel door open.

Corrective Action Taken: Dog was recovered the day after it escaped. Dog did not appear to have any injuries. Owner did not seek vet care. Dog and owner flew same day dog was recovered. Kennel door was reinforced by drilling holes and adding more zip ties to secure door shut.
