December 2023 Airline Pet Travel Report
The December, 2023 Airline Pet Travel Report contains pet incidents for the month of October, 2023.
This month, we had 2 deaths.
The first one was a Golden Retriever Mix on Alaska Airlines Flight 461 traveling from Columbus, Ohio to Seattle, Washington. The dog chewed through the side of its kennel, while escaping the kennel the dog cut its throat and was found deceased upon arrival outside of its kennel in the cargo compartment.
The second was a Yuzu Shiba named Jiro on Hawaiian Airlines Flight 10 traveling from Honolulu, Hawaii to Los Angeles, California. Jiro was found deceased upon arrival at LAX and the owner shared that the dog had existing heart issues and was traveling to Los Angeles for a procedure/treatment.
