Pre-Security (Landside)
Terminal A
Located curbside outside Terminal A, this is a fully fenced and landscaped outdoor pet relief area. The facility is accessible for individuals with disabilities and available 24 hours a day. This is the primary outdoor service animal and pet relief station at SAT.
Terminal B
Located at the Baggage Claim level, adjacent to the West exit near the Ground Transportation Center. This designated service animal relief area provides convenient access for travelers picking up pets or arriving with service animals.
Post-Security (Airside)
Terminal A
A designated pet relief area is available post-security in the gate concourse area for travelers with ticketed pets or service animals.
Terminal B
A designated pet relief area is available post-security in the gate concourse area for travelers with ticketed pets or service animals.
Amenities & Supplies
- Water bowls for drinking
- Mutt mitt dispensers (waste bag stations)
- Garbage areas with trash receptacles
- Fenced areas for safety (outdoor locations)
- ADA accessible design at all locations
Important Pet Travel Rules
- Avoid escalators and moving walkways with pets – these are dangerous for animals
- Carry your pet, transport in a kennel, or walk on the floor
- Use elevators to change levels
- Service animals must remain on leashes when not in designated relief areas
- Pet pickup from cargo: Contact your airline for their specific cargo office location
