Main Pet Relief Area

The pet relief area is located across the street from the Ellison S. Onizuka Space Center on the north side of the old car rental facility. This is the designated outdoor area for service animals, pets in transit, and working airport animals.

Important Note: This location is outside the terminal building and requires exiting the secure area if you're already past security.

Post-Security (Airside)

Kona International Airport does not currently have a pet relief area within the secure (post-security) area of the terminal. Travelers with service animals who need relief facilities after passing through security will need to:

  1. Exit the secure area
  2. Use the pre-security pet relief area described above
  3. Re-clear security to return to their gate

Plan extra time if your service animal needs a relief break after security screening.
