Main Pet Relief Area
The designated pet relief area is located across the street from the Ellison S. Onizuka Space Center on the north side of the old car rental facility. This is an outdoor grassy area accessible before entering the terminal building.
Important: This facility is located outside the terminal in the landside area, so travelers with connecting flights should plan accordingly.
Post-Security (Airside)
No airside (post-security) pet relief stations are currently documented at Kona International Airport at Keahole. Travelers with service animals on connecting flights should use the pre-security facility and allow extra time for re-screening.

Animals Allowed in Terminal
Animals are not permitted inside the airport terminal building except: * Service animals ("seeing eye" or "hearing ear" dogs) being used by persons with disabilities * Animals properly confined for air carrier shipment and authorized by law to be in Hawaii * Law enforcement animals with authorized personnel
Leash Requirements
All animals must remain leashed and under direct control of their owner/handler at all times when using the relief area.
