Post-Security (Airside)
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport offers seven indoor Service Animal Relief Areas (SARAs)—the most of any U.S. airport. Each facility is spaciously designed with ADA-accessible features, including:
Terminal T (Domestic)
- Location: Near Gate T7
- Features: Concrete and artificial grass turf, automated entry door, overhead shower hose for cleanup, biodegradable waste bags, ground-level drinking fountain, and a sink for hand washing. Antimicrobial, slip-resistant flooring.
Concourse A
- Location: Near Gate A10
- Features: Same amenities as all indoor SARAs—grassy turf area, pet supplies, ADA-accessible equipment, and automated door.
Concourse B
- Location: Near Gate B33
- Features: Full-service indoor relief station with turf, waste bags, drinking fountain, and shower hose.
Concourse C
- Location: Near Gate C17 (also referenced as C19 in some sources)
- Features: Indoor pet relief area with artificial turf, automated entry, and all standard amenities.
Concourse D
- Location: D-Centerpoint (central location between gates)
- Features: Spacious indoor SARA with grassy turf, waste disposal, and ADA-compliant design.
Concourse E
- Location: Near Gate E15 (also referenced as E14)
- Features: Indoor relief area with artificial grass, pet supplies, and accessible drinking fountain.
Concourse F (International Terminal)
- Location: Near Gate F7
- Features: Indoor SARA with all standard amenities including turf, waste bags, and hand-washing sink.
Pre-Security (Landside)
Domestic Terminal South – Poochie Park
- Location: Ground Transportation area, outside doors W1 and W2
- Type: Outdoor, fully fenced 1,000-square-foot dog park
- Features: Gravel/grass surface, biodegradable waste bags, benches for owners
- Note: Closed for renovation through June 1, 2025. During this period, use the indoor SARAs listed above.
International Terminal Arrivals
- Location: Arrivals level, outside door A1
- Type: Outdoor pet relief area
- Features: Outdoor space for service animals and passenger pets to relieve themselves.
Amenities & Rules
- Supplies Provided: All indoor SARAs include biodegradable waste bags, drinking fountains, overhead shower hoses for cleanup, and sinks for hand washing.
- Accessibility: Automated entry doors and ADA-compliant equipment throughout.
- Flooring: Antimicrobial, seamless, stain- and slip-resistant surfaces in all indoor areas.
- Hours: All Service Animal Relief Areas are open 24/7.
- Pet Policies: Pet transportation policies vary by airline and season—contact your carrier directly for details.
Tips for Travelers
- Indoor vs. Outdoor: If your pet prefers grass, head to the outdoor areas (when Poochie Park reopens). For convenience and weather protection, use the indoor SARAs.
- Layovers: All concourses have dedicated relief stations, so you won't need to exit security.
- Guide Dogs & Service Animals: ATL fully accommodates service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All relief areas are designed with accessibility in mind.
