Quick Location Summary

BWI Marshall Airport has four Animal Relief Areas: two before security and two after security.

• Post-Security, B/C Connector: At the beginning of Concourse C, between Security Checkpoint C and the exit to Concourse C
• Post-Security, D/E Connector: Just past the Concourse D/E Security Checkpoint, to the right toward the Concourse D gates
• Pre-Security, Lower Level: Outside Door #19, before Concourse E, near the international terminal and the Light Rail station
• Pre-Security, Hourly Garage: Level 3 of the Hourly Garage, between garage Towers C and D

Post-Security (Airside)

Concourse C (B/C Connector)

This pet relief station is at the beginning of Concourse C, near the end of the B/C Connector. It sits between Security Checkpoint C and the exit to Concourse C. It is a good choice for travelers who have already cleared security for gates in Concourses B or C.

Concourse D/E Connector

This service animal area is in the connector between Concourses D and E. * Clear the Concourse D/E Security Checkpoint. * Turn right toward the boarding gates in Concourse D.

Pre-Security (Landside)

Lower Level: Door #19 (Near Concourse E / International)

This dog bathroom is on the Lower Level, outside Door #19, before Concourse E. It is near the international terminal and next to the MTA Light Rail station.

Hourly Garage: Level 3

This relief area is in front of the Hourly Garage on Level 3, between garage Towers C and D. You can reach it three ways: * From Concourse B: 1. Take the B skywalk to the Hourly Garage. 2. Take the Tower B elevator down to Level 3 (marked "3"). 3. Follow the white-lined path to the right. 4. Look for a concrete wall opening with a red awning overhead on the right-hand side. 5. Follow the paver pathway to the relief area. * From Concourse D: 1. Take the D skywalk to the Hourly Garage. 2. Take the Tower D elevator down to Level 3 (marked "3"). 3. Follow the white-lined path to the left. 4. Look for a concrete wall opening with a red awning overhead on the left-hand side. 5. Follow the paver pathway to the relief area. * From Concourse C: 1. Take the center elevator down to the Tunnel level (marked "T"). 2. Follow the tunnel to the Hourly Garage. 3. Take the Tower C elevator up to Level 3 (marked "3"). 4. Follow the white-lined path to the right. 5. Look for a concrete wall opening with a red awning overhead on the right-hand side. 6. Follow the paver pathway to the relief area.

Amenities & Rules

• Supplies: Waste disposal bags and trash receptacles are provided. Owners must clean up after their animals.
• Seating: All four Animal Relief Areas have seating.
• Leash Rule: Animals must be leashed whenever they are out of their carrier in a relief area.
• Carrier Rule: Maryland state law requires non-service animals (including pets) to stay in a carrier inside the terminal. Non-service animals may enter the terminal only if they are traveling by air.
• Service Animals: Trained service animals (dogs or miniature horses, under the ADA and Maryland law) are allowed in the airport at any time.
• Non-Traveling Animals: Animals that are not traveling are not allowed inside the terminal building.
• Escalators & Moving Walkways: These are dangerous for animals. Carry your animal, keep it in a carrier, or walk it on flat surfaces. Use elevators to move between the Upper and Lower Levels.
• TSA Working Dogs: TSA screening canine teams may be working near checkpoints. Keep your animal away from them.
  • Passengers with pets should use a checkpoint where working dogs are not assigned.
  • Passengers with service animals may still use checkpoints with working dogs.
• Policy Violations: Owners who break animal rules may receive warnings or citations, or be removed from the terminal.
• Airline Policies: Contact your airline several days before travel to confirm pet fees, documentation and other rules.
