Important Rules & Guidelines
- Leash Requirement: All pets must remain leashed at all times when in the terminal, during TSA screening, and at pet relief areas. The only exception is for trained service animals assisting travelers with disabilities.
- Carrier Requirement: Pets must be in their travel carriers when not in designated relief areas.
- Elevator Use: When navigating the terminal with a pet, use elevators instead of escalators to prevent injury.
- Cleanup: Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their pets using the provided supplies.
- Maintenance: If janitorial maintenance is needed at any pet relief station, call (206) 787-5229.
TSA Screening with Pets
- Animals should never be screened through an x-ray machine
- Handlers should securely lead leashed pets through TSA screening processes
- Service animal accessories (carriers, harnesses, vests) are subject to screening
- Animals are not allowed in TSA screening lanes while K9 detection dogs are working—you may be redirected to another checkpoint
