Terminal B - Between Gates 16 and 17
The airside pet relief area is located on the walkway between Gates 16 and 17. This is the only post-security animal relief station at San José Mineta International Airport, making it convenient for travelers with connecting flights or those who need to access a service animal area after passing through TSA screening.
Access: After clearing security, proceed to the gate area and look for signage directing you to the pet relief station between Gates 16 and 17.
Pre-Security (Landside)
Terminal A - North of Ticketing
Located outside Terminal A, north of the ticketing area. This outdoor dog bathroom is accessible before you check in or pass through security screening.
Terminal B - North of Ticketing
Located outside Terminal B, north of the ticketing area. This outdoor pet relief station mirrors the Terminal A location and is ideal for travelers departing from Terminal B gates (Gates 17-36).
Amenities & Tips
- Water Stations: Fill up your pet's water bowl at water refill stations located near Gates 6, 8, 10, 14, 15, 17, 24, and 32 in both terminals.
- Leash Requirements: All pets must be kept on leashes when outside the designated relief areas.
- TSA Screening: Pets should be carried or walked through security screening. Place empty carriers on the X-ray belt. Service animals can walk through the metal detector with their handlers.
- Therapy Animals: SJC is home to the "Happy Tails" therapy animal program, featuring certified therapy dogs and cats that roam the terminals to comfort travelers.
