Main Pet Relief Area
Located outside the terminal by the parking garage, specifically north of the skywalk that connects the terminal to the parking garage. This is a small fenced outdoor area equipped with a fake fire hydrant for your pet's comfort.
How to Find It: Exit the terminal and head toward the parking garage. Look for the skywalk entrance—the pet relief station is positioned just north of this structure.
Post-Security (Airside)
Des Moines International Airport does not currently have a pet relief area inside the security checkpoint. If your pet needs to relieve themselves after passing through TSA, you will need to exit security and use the outdoor facility described above.
Airport Pet Policy & Rules
- Carrier Requirement: All pets (except service animals) must remain in a carrier at all times while inside the Des Moines International Airport terminal.
- Access Restrictions: Only ticketed passengers traveling with a pet or service animal are permitted to have animals in the airport.
