Pre-Security (Landside)

Terminal 1 - Baggage Claim Level

Raleigh-Durham International Airport provides a designated pet relief area located outdoors on the baggage claim level of Terminal 1. This outdoor facility is accessible to all travelers with pets or service animals.

Terminal 2 - Baggage Claim Level

A second service animal relief area is located outdoors on the baggage claim level of Terminal 2. Look for the pet relief symbol on the terminal directory maps to pinpoint the exact location.

Post-Security (Airside)

RDU does not currently offer post-security pet relief areas. All dog bathroom facilities are located pre-security on the baggage claim levels of both terminals.

Rules & Requirements

  • Crating Required: Pets must remain in crates at all times while inside the terminal buildings.
  • Service Animals: Service animals are permitted throughout the airport. Travelers with service animals should carry appropriate identification (cards, documentation, harness tags) when passing through security.
  • Leash Control: When using the outdoor relief areas, maintain control of your pet with a leash and/or harness at all times.

Finding the Pet Relief Stations

Both pet relief areas are marked with a paw print symbol on the official Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 directories available on the RDU website. The relief areas are positioned outside the terminals on the baggage claim level for convenient access before or after your flight.
