February 2, 2010 Animal: Dog – French Bulldog

Narrative Description: Description of incident: Dog was traveling in cargo hold and traveling with owner’s mother. The dog was found unresponsive upon arrival in Moscow but mother refused veterinary service. The dog was deemed to be alive by the mother and subsequently refused to file a claim at that time. We later learned from the owner the dog died within an hour of leaving the airport.

Description of cause of the incident: Due to no necroscopy no definitive cause of death can be determined.

Description of any corrective action taken: United procedures were followed and there was no apparent reason for the dog to have fallen ill while inflight.
