Incident 1 Carrier: Alaska Airlines Flight: 132 (Fairbanks, AK to Seattle, WA) Date of incident: Monday, June 2, 2014 Time of incident: Approximately 4:30 PM AT Description of animal (including name): A 7-year-old, male, English bulldog, named Duke. Narrative description of incident: During the upload of Flight 132 Fairbanks ramp agents noticed, that Duke, A 7-year-old, English bulldog inside his kennel, was in distress and attempting to chew and dig out of his kennel. As a result Duke’s paws and mouth were bloody. Duke’s owner deplaned and was advised of the situation. Duke then escaped his kennel and was caught and walked to the baggage claim area where his owner claimed him. Narrative description of the cause of the incident: A 7-year- old English bulldog chewed and pawed trying to escape its kennel prior to the flight and sustained paw and mouth injuries. There is no evidence to suggest that the airline’s handling contributed to the animal’s injuries. Narrative description of any corrective action taken in response to the incident:
