Carrier: Delta Air Lines Flight Number: 1326 Date & Time of Incident: 02/21/2016 Type of Incident: Death Description of Animal: Breed: Abyssinian Description of Incident: A cat was accepted with accompany paperwork in apparent good health. The cat was transported to the aircraft and loaded without irregularity. Upon arrival in the transfer city the ground crew discovered the cat deceased at time of offload. The cat was remitted to Veterinary care for medical evaluation. Cause of Incident: According to the Necropsy report the cat suffered acute pulmonary congestion and edema with evidence of chronic cardiac dysfunction and passive congestion in the liver with indications of acute heart failure. Corrective Action Taken: The Necropsy report does not support corrective action.
