December 2022 Airline Pet Travel Report

The December, 2022 Airline Pet Travel Report contains pet incidents for the month of October, 2022.

There was one death and one injury for this report, both with Hawaiian Airlines.

Baloo, the French Bulldog, was traveling on Hawaiian Flight 50 from Honolulu to JFK when upon arrival was found unresponsive and was determined that he had passed away. This incident is still pending necropsy. The owner of Baloo will be following up with their own veterinarian on this matter.

Max, a dog in transport on Hawaiian Airlines Flight 82 from Honolulu to Austin, was injured when he was left alone over night in his kennel due to negligence by GHA agent and leadership not communicating to the Hawaiian Airlines Cargo Manager.

Corrective action has been taken. All agents at the Austin Airport Air General will be briefed by Air General Mgr and trained HA TTT Trainer on SOP and Communication of all cargo responsibility and irregularity matters which most importantly for all live animals to ensure their safety first, must be picked up and not left alone under no circumstances to be left unattended, must remain on duty until all live animals are released to customer.
