Pet incidents for the month of December, 2011.
Alaska Airlines reports the death of an 11 year old Yorkshire Terrier on a flight from Seattle, WA to Maui, HI. The owner stated that the dog was an older dog with congenital tracheal malformation and was in failing health. The passenger was also traveling with a cat that arrived in good health.
Delta reports the death of a 17 year old cat traveling from Detroit, Michigan to Nagoya, Japan. The cat was originally accepted in Columbus, Ohio for transport to Manila, Philippines. A second cat contained in the kennel arrived without incident.
