The July, 2021 Airline Pet Travel Report contains pet incidents for the month of May, 2021.

PetFlight Family:

We hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer so far. Sad to report we have 3 deaths and 1 injury for this month.

Alaska Airlines had 2 deaths, both dogs. One was Bryce, a whippet, that suffered a seizure in the bagwell before being loaded onto the aircraft in San Diego, CA. The other was a Labrador Retriever puppy that was hit by a car near Cold Bay, AK where there were no veterinary services and passed away enroute to Anchorage due to the car accident.

American Airlines had 1 death of a great dane dog, Maximus, from heat exhaustion enroute from Honolulu, HI to Dallas Fort Worth, TX. The report indicated the kennel was of improper size as he did not have enough room to turn around, face the door, and access his water.

Hawaiian Airlines had 1 injury of a dog that chewed through his kennel during his flight from Los Angeles, CA to Honolulu, HI.

Lots of hugs to all our fur-kids! Stay safe!
