August 2018 Airline Pet Travel Report

The August, 2018 Airline Pet Travel Report contains pet incidents for the month of June, 2018.

Delta Airlines had one injury this month on a flight originating in Honolulu, HI with a transfer in Los Angeles, CA destined for Atlanta, GA where an Australian Shepherd dog chewed its way out of the kennel during transit in Los Angeles, recovered by local ground operations staff and treated for a fracture to his leg and minor abrasions.

Delta Airlines also had a death of a cat reported at the Baltimore, MD airport after the cat was taken to TSA screening it went missing and discovered the next morning where the cat suffered a fatal injury in the baggage conveyor system.

Hawaiian Airlines had a death of a bulldog upon arrival, the cause is unknown.

United Airlines had a death of a cat having a heart attack during its stay with the kenneling provider.
